Now which was mine? I remember it being blue...

Festivals are everywhere. There are loads of them. They are coming to get us. But it’s ok; they come in peace, man.

These friendly festivals are a great place to see your favourite bands and check out new ones. And hopefully the sun will be shining; you will get drunk; you might stagger to the wrong tent: you will have the time of your life, with friends that you quite like. You might even make some new ones.

But alas, maybe you can’t make it to any and you are missing out. Or maybe you are going to all of them and just can’t wait. Well, we’ve checked out the line-ups of some of the biggest and best festivals this summer and hereby present the highlights. Just use the navigation buttons at the bottom of the page to check them all out.

So set the tent up in the sitting room (if it’s not already), download the music from the festivals that take your fancy and play it so loud that your neighbours will think you're having a festival of your own. Before long they’ll all be around with their tents. What larks.

Wireless | 04 - 05 July 2009

Wireless | 04 - 05 July 2009

You’ll be hard pushed to find a bigger party in London than Wireless at this time of the year. The line-up looks guaranteed to get everyone dancing, and you’ll have plenty of extra energy to do so because there’s no need to haul a tent through endless fields in order to attend.

T in the Park | 10-12 July 2009

T in the Park | 10-12 July

The undisputed king of Scottish festival returns once again with a lineup to rival any of it's softer southern cousins. Don't be fooled by its name though, tea will definitely not be the drink of choice at this festival.

Latitude | 16-19 July 2009

Latitude | 16 -19 July 2009

Poetry, Literature and Opera are all part of the Latitude experience, but those looking to indulge in the less salubrious side of festival life should not be put of as this is one for hedonists and line-up junkies too.

Field Day | 01 August 2009

Field Day | 01 August 2009

Now in it's third year, Field Day is carving out a nice little niche for itself booking some of the best small bands and (not so small) DJs on the circuit. Past events have been blighted by rain and queues, but fingers crossed the sun will shine and toilets will be plentiful (not plenty full), this year.

Green Man | 21-23 August 2009

Green Man | 21-23 August 2009

Alongside Download, Green Man will undoubtedly win the award for most bearded festival of the season. Comparisons stop there though as folk, Americana, and gentle electronica are the order of the day here.

V Festival | 22-23 August 2009

V Festival | 22-23 August 2009

Some may scoff at V festival’s relatively safe line-ups, but surely even the most hardened festival-goer would have to be a brave soul to venture to the front when Kings of Leon do a bit of ‘Sex on Fire’, or Oasis get their ‘Cigarettes & Alcohol’ out.

Reading / Leeds | 28-30 August 2009

Reading / Leeds | 28-30 August 2009

As ever, the line-ups at Reading and Leeds balance the best up-and-coming bands with some well-established giants of Alternative music. Plus, it's held on a Bank Holiday weekend, so you can party till the final moments guilt-free.

End Of The Road | 11 - 13 September 2009

End of The Road | 11 - 13 September 2009

Disappointingly not named in tribute to the Boyz II Men classic but worth checking out all the same, End of The Road is a small and friendly affair and a refreshing change from some of the bigger events of the summer.
