One of the premier band's of England's so-called Nu Rave scene of the early 2000s, New Young Pony Club hit upon a sassy, infectious mix of synth-driven melodies, classic UK rave beats, and just enough guitar to keeps things edgy. Lead singer Tahita Bulmer vamps it up with a sultry yet detached style that firmly places her in the Debbie Harry school of female frontwomen. The band have proven to be darlings of the ever-fickle U.K. music press, and have developed a certain hipster cachet in the US as well.
